Granby School Team Camps
Granby School of Wrestling Team Camps are designed for the High School teams who desire summertime dual meet competition as well as Technique. Each day you will wrestle multiple matches, and drill our system of wrestling that has been proven successful on every level of the sport. Our system of wrestling is easy to learn and execute in competition. Your team will be coached by a Granby School of Wrestling Counselor or Instructor. Each of your wrestlers will receive evaluations from our staff members to ensure maximum growth throughout the week. Our entire staff is committed members to instilling our system into your athletes, so they can reach their full potential.

Check-in times for camps are 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Checkout begins at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday for VA camps and 11:00 a.m. for MO camps.

Our schedule allows for at least 10 matches and 12 hours of technique.

During the 7:00 - 9:00 pm technique session your athletes will have the opportunity to pick 2 areas of concentration. They will have 1 hour at each station. All technique stations will be taught by a Granby School of Wrestling Instructor.

Granby School Technique Camps
You will learn a system that has produced 44 state team championships and over 180 individual state champions, as well as several high school & NCAA All-Americans and National Champions. We will break each hold into steps, and drill repetitively to perfection. All of our holds are taught in a series to instill chain wrestling into your athletes. Chain wrestling is the key to success at every level of the sport. This camp is designed for all wrestling at all ages and skill levels that want to develop a winning system.

Granby School Youth Camps (Ages 7-12)
Granby School of Wrestling Youth Camps have been carefully designed so that wrestlers have a positive experience in a closely supervised environment. Your child will leave our camp with a basic knowledge of the granby series in the bottom, top and takedown position. Our counselors will motivate, teach and supervise your child very seriouly. We encourage young athletes to bring a partner with them if they are not part of a youth group attending camp. Fathers will be charged 1/2 price to attend camp with their sons.

Coaches
We have designed our camps to facilitate your entire teams needs. You can bring every team member to ensure buidling team UNITY, a key to winning team championships. The young inexperienced wrestlers can attend the technique camp. This will provide them the opportunity to have success immediately and will provide you the opportunity to move along quicker in your practice room. The more experienced wrestler can opt for the team camp. This gives your wrestlers that have been to camp several times, the opportunity to master the small details that make all the difference in the world, as well as get match experience, which there is no substitution for. They will wrestle at least 10 matches and get 12 hours of driling and learning. We are making a committment to provide more personal attention to your athletes than any other camp in the country.

  • Learn how to correctly execute and finish the Sweep Single.
  • Learn simple set-ups for the Inside Step and the Russian-Arm
    Inside Step.
  • Learn how to successfully finish poor shots with our patented
    “Iranian Series.”
  • Safe, easy, and proven to be effective for beginning through
    advanced wreslters.
 
 

 

Bottom

  • Shoulder Granby, Head Shrugs, & Head Granby techniques
    are major areas of emphasis.
  • Shoulder Granby - Personally, learn the hold that Billy Martin
    invented and is continually growing. Learn how to execute
    from all positions when pressure is present.
  • Head Shrug - The basic building block on the bottom. It can
    be executed from the Referee’s Position, Sit-Out, or Change-
    Over motion.
  • Head Granby - More powerful than the Head Shrug.
  • Learn how to finish all bottom techniques with our patented
    “Force Roll” series, for a sure 5 point hold and pin.
  • See how easily our standing rolls can be incorporated with
    you stand-up series.
  • You will learn how to beat the Spiral Ride with the Spiral
    Shrug.
 
 

Top

  • Emphasis on the Radman Ride, and how it sets up Arm Bars,
    Churella Tilts, Turks, and Cradles.
  • Learn how to Stop the Stand-Up & Switch. Initiate the first hold off the whistle.
  • We will teach you how to pin with the Cradle.
